in PORTUGAL

Spend one week on a surf house on wheels and learn to surf or score the best waves.
South Portugal (April - May) : discover the beautiful beaches and towns of the Alentejo and Algarve, and surf along the Costa Vicentina, one of the most stunning regions in Europe.
North Portugal (June - September) : from Aveiro, through the charming city of Porto and north to some of the most incredible (and uncrowded) beaches of Portugal.

Your stay in the Portugal Road Trip
On the bottom floor you find a living room with couches and a table (and a projector to check the surf footage in the evening!). The kitchen is fully equipped and you can cook your own meals. Also on the bottom floor, there is a toilet and – in the room next to it – a bathroom with a nice warm shower.
On the outside terrace you can chill on the bean bags, relax and enjoy beautiful sunsets.

You will spend the week in a Mercedes truck with a special system that allows the walls and the ceiling to expand upwards, thus transforming the truck into a double-decker hotel on wheels.Daniela and Eduardo be your hosts and surf guides for the week. They love surfing and traveling with their Surf Truck... and you will love it too!
On the top floor of the truck you find the rooms: 4 shared double rooms with bunk bed, and 1 private double room with a double bed. We recommend you the private double room if you're traveling with a partner. Every room comes with air conditioning and a locker.

Join the surf lessons if you have never surfed before or are still learning. Join the surf guiding if you have experience riding the waves on your own.
On the arrival day there will be 1 transfer from Lagos train/bus station or from Porto Covo bus station, according to the starting point of the trip.We advise you to fly to Faro Airport when the trip starts in Lagos or fly to Lisbon Airport, when the trip starts in Sines. However, it’s possible to arrive and depart from Faro Airport or to arrive and depart from Lisbon Airport.
How to travel from Faro Airport to Lagos Train Station:
a) - By Train (around 10€): From Faro Airport you can go on the bus 16, destiny Faro, until Faro train station (6km). Then you go on the regional train, destiny Lagos, and in 1h 45m you arrive at Lagos train station where we will be waiting for you. b) - By shuttle (approximately 30€/person or special price for groups ). To book your ticket go to https://www.greenbus.pt/, or to http://www.faroshuttlebus.com/) - By taxi/private transfer: https://en.aeroportodefaro.com/transfers.
It's possible to meet you at Faro Airport and bring you to the Truck (extra service from 90€). Please let us know in advance.
How to travel from Lisbon Airport to Porto Covo:
From Lisbon Airport go by taxi or subway to Lisboa Sete Rios bus station (10 min). In Lisboa Sete Rios station catch a bus to Porto Covo, and we will pick you at the bus station and take you to the Truck. Check the schedules and tickets here: https://rede-expressos.pt/.If you need any orientation, we can help you with finding the best transports to meet us.
Transfer schedule:
The pick-up on arrival day is between 13:00-18:00. The drop-off on departure day is between 8:00-13:00.Please send us your flight details (day and hour of arrival/departure, and flight number). When we start in Sines we do the transfer on Sunday from Porto Covo bus station between 13:00-18:00. You can catch a bus in Lisbon from Lisbon Seven Rivers station (Sete Rios) and buy the ticket on this website: https://rede-expressos.pt/
We advise you to fly to Porto Airport for your North Portugal road trip.
Meeting point: every Sunday there will be 1 transfer from Viana do Castelo station or from Porto Airport, according to the itinerary and the starting point of the trip.

The pick up is on Sunday from Porto Airport between 13:00-18:00 and the drop off on Saturday at Viana do Castelo bus station between 08:00-13:00

The pick up is on Sunday from Viana do Castelo bus station between 13:00-18:00 and the drop off on Saturday at Porto Airport between 08:00-13:00
How to travel from Porto Airport to Viana do Castelo, when the trip starts in Vila Praia de Ancora/Viana do Castelo:
- by Airport Shuttle (12€). To book your ticket go to the Barquense website.
- by private transfer from Porto Airport to the Truck Surf Hotel (ex: Uber approximately 60€).
Please let us know if you need any help with the reservation. We advise you to fly to Porto Airport. In case you fly to Lisboa Airport the trip to Porto by train has a duration of approximately 3h.
Average wintertime swells on the west coast are around 8-10ft, with 12-15ft maximums, whilst summer rarely goes flat and regularly gets up to double overhead.
The south coast offers perfect shelter with offshore winds and a filtered swell although it is usually flat in summer. Tides vary from 4-12ft.
