We don't recommend surf weeks in summer for the Buggerru Surf House if your focus is on surf progression, as the waves are not often consistent.
It's still an amazing destination if you are looking for an Italian holiday with some surf vibes.
We recommend a surf trip to Europe's Atlantic Coast (Portugal, Spain, Ireland) for more consistent waves in July and August.
Here’s our suggestions on how you can get from Cagliari Airport to Buggerru:
• Rental car (best option): while all beach transfers for the surf lessons and extra activities are organized, having a car will allow you to roam and explore even more the coastline around Buggerru.
• Cagliari Airport - Buggerru transfer (easiest option): the Buggerru surf house team will get in touch with you via e-mail to arrange the transfer.
The costs for the transfer are:
- 1 to 3 passengers €100,00
- 4 to 6 passengers €125,00
- 7 to 8 passengers €150,00
Night extra tariff (from midnight to 7am): €30,00
• Public Transport (cheapest but longest option): take a train from Cagliari Airport to Iglesias (Cagliari Elmas - Iglesias) and then a bus from Iglesias train station to Bugerru. We don't recommend this solution as there's not many rides and connections throughout the day.
If you need help or have any other questions just let us know.
There are waves all around it, but the west coast around Capo Mannu has a real concentration of reliable, quality spots. The consistent, forceful Mistral wind arrives from the WNW-NW bringing windswells that average 6-8ft with 8sec period, which can rise dramatically within hours. SW-facing spots are OK in the predominant NW winds. Winds can be variable with plentiful N and E winds. Cagliari tides never exceed 0.4m.
In case a lesson can’t be put into practice due to weather conditions, we will make up for those lost hours by adding them to the following days or by replacing them with alternative activities such as SUP, boat trips or snorkeling.
