Ride the waves
with your tribe

The Maldives surf season goes from March to November. Waves are incredibly consistent and while June and July may get a bit wet, it's is hard to complain about some rain when the waves are pumping and the water is 28°C.

Since the Central and Southern Atolls are harder to access than the Malé Atolls, fewer boats operate in the area – which translates to fewer surfers in the line-up -> Discover the different itineraries and dates.
recommended wetsuit
No wetsuit needed. Bring boardshorts/bikinis and a rash guard and surf hat to protect from the sun. Reef booties are recommended. And plenty of reef-friendly sunscreen
Avg. water temp
28°C / 82°F, all year
Crowd factor
Low most of the time, can be medium at the most known spots on a classic day
Weather
Weather is tropical and hot year-round; with usually a higher chance of rain and wind in July and August. Still, hard to complain about some rain when the waves are pumping and the water is 28°C.

Travel to the Maldives. Cruise through remote atolls and pumping waves.

SOUTHERN ATOLLS (MARCH, April - September, october)
One domestic flight away, you will cruise through the incredible amount of breaks facing all swell directions. Low crowds and there's often an empty perfect wave to be found.
Central Atolls (May, June, August)
Cruising south from Malé, the Central Atolls are a wide area with fewer charter boats, surf houses and resorts. Score perfect waves and travel the atolls to escape the crowd.
Malé Atolls (July, August)
In close proximity to Malé international airport, you will find some of the best and most consistent waves in the Maldives. Come in the Malé Atolls during high season if you want to score pumping waves and don't mind risking a bit more crowds.
